The Khaitan Family has been proudly promoting education for over six decades. Starting from humble beginnings, Shri Gajanan Khaitanji, a freedom fighter, toured Kolkata with Mahatma Gandhiji to assess the situation after India achieved independence. He, along with his sons, embarked on a mission to rebuild India into an economic powerhouse, venturing into fields like chemicals, fertilizers, distilleries, and education, and has been honoured to serve the community since 1947.
Smt. Draupadi Devi Khaitan and Shri Gajanan Khaitan founded their first CBSE school, the B.D.M. International School, in Kolkata in 1964. Several more schools were established with the objective of promoting literacy and facilitating the country’s economic growth.
Continuing the legacy, Mr. Kamesh Khaitan established Khaitan Public School (KPS) in 2001 with just 9 students. Today, KPS stands as the No. 2 school in Ghaziabad, boasting an alumni base of over 6,000, 2750+ current students, and a distinguished reputation in the NCR. The school’s mission is to empower students to excel morally, socially, and spiritually. As a CBSE school, KPS provides high standards of learning through its dedicated and highly trained faculty and world-class infrastructure, with special emphasis on upskilling teachers through premier resources in India and abroad.
Mr. Khaitan believes that the vision of his philanthropic parents, Smt. Draupadi Devi Khaitan and Shri G.N. Khaitan, cannot be realised through majestic brick-and-mortar structures alone, but through the strength of character exhibited by the students. Guided by this vision, he has elevated KPS to unprecedented heights over the past two decades.
In 2021, after 40 years of educating more than 23,000 students, the Khaitan family introduced another institution in Ghaziabad — Khaitan World School, under the chairmanship of Mr. Anirudh Khaitan. He believes that instilling good values and ethos, and providing children with top-tier facilities and educators to mould their future, are the guiding principles behind the school’s foundation. The Khaitan family remains steadfast in this commitment.
